This book is a great read,and a well written book! Westyn has you in suspense and leads you through a gripping story with a surprise ending. His description of the characters and the attention to detail in describing scenes in New York City make for a very believable story. After reading fifty pages I could not put this book down. This book grabs your attention as it explores the thoughts of an innocent youth pulled into a world of greed and corruption. The author has a unique way of capturing thought processes and expressing them in great detail. A compelling read into the minds of the powerful and those in the pursuit of power and purpose! Enjoy!!
I’ve read so many books set in New York City that I feel like I’ve walked the streets myself ( I haven’t) but it takes a really good one to break new ground and really separate itself from the pack. That’s exactly what I found with Westyn’s Blood Fund, and I loved it from the very first page. Laura Ellyson is a fantastic character, powerful and loveable but also flawed in her own way enough that you feel the empathetic bond investing you emotionally enough so you feel the jeopardy she experiences along the way. I won’t give away any of the plot, like many reviews tend to do, but say that if you only pick up one new book today, make it this one. 5 stars.
