I really love this novel. I love Campbell's art style and many of them remind me of the people I hung out with in high school (although I wasn't a goth, many of my friends were). Most of the characters can be classified as goth and as such most of them have unusual hair colors or styles, odd piercings, tattoos and the like. Many, but not all of them are also LGBT. I also liked the diversity of the characters in body style, race and sexuality which is impressive considering this book takes place in the American south which is not known to be the most diverse of places. I also found it interesting that at least two of the characters also have physical deformities, something you don't see much in most media. This is mostly a Slice of Life type book, so the plot is pretty much non-existent but it gets by fine without one.

I saw the third volume in a comic shop with my older sister. After some time, I decided to check out the first volume on here. The premise didn't seem that interesting. I still read it because said it was 184 pages and I figured that it wouldn't take long to read. I was in for a pleasant surprise when I found it funny due to the messages written on the restroom's stalls. In addition, the characters and their reactions were realistic. I never once thought ,"Who would even do or say this?"

Even though I enjoyed this, I did have one minor criticism. I found the journal entries hard to read. So, I began to skip them. At least, thy were few and far between.
I will be honest here. I know these books were published as volumes somewhat like a serial drama. "Wet Moon" I thought was about werewolves because I like werewolves, and there was the "moon" thing in the title. But instead, I get a book about women situations and they are gay I think, because I was confused by this little book with thick pages. Maybe none of the characters were gay. I don't know. Anyway maybe you will have more luck with this read than I did.
One of the best graphic novels I've read.
I discovered Ross Campbell's artwork with the relaunch of Glory from Image Comics (a fantastic book). I ordered this with great anticipation and was really let down. The artwork is fantastic but the story is... non-existent. Since I am not a 20-ish girl, I had no chance of identifying with the characters in this slice of life book. If you are a young lady, you may very well enjoy this, but being a 30-something male, there is nothing here for me. No disrespect meant to Mr. Campbell, just ask yourself if you fall within the book's intended demographic before you buy.
