Goodnight Nobody A Novel Jennifer Weiner Books

Like all of Jennifer Weiner's books, this one has all the elements necessary to keep the reader entertained and interested. The heroine, Kate, is a suburban mom who never intended to be one and her experience with investigation occurs when she has time and her little ones are in preschool.

What sets Jennifer Weiner's books apart from the average suburban mom detective genre is her portrayal of Kate's inner life as well as her realistic depiction of the drudgery and frustration stay at home moms can face when their children are very small and utterly dependent. Sometimes it's hilarious and sometimes it's heartbreaking, but it always makes good reading.

The mystery is very good and Kate follows her leads in a realistic and entertaining way. The suspense builds well to the ending, and the crime, as well as its perpetrator, is presented in a novel and surprising way.

All in all, very well done.

Goodnight Nobody A Novel Jennifer Weiner Books Reviews

It was a poor intimation of the Stepford Wives
I liked it a lot. I'm still reading and it's still holding my interest. Still waiting to find out "who done it".
This book was engaging but was able to put it down or sometimes fall asleep. Great for vacation at the beach.
At first I was unsure of this book, it sounded like something from Desperate Housewives. However I am a loyalist, and I decided to take a chance. I've always liked books with some romance, I never thought that I liked mystery. As hard as it was to put down just as the other Jennifer Weiner books), since this had mystery, I found this even harder to put down. I wanted to take Kate's journey right along with her. There's always something that someone can relate to in Jennifer Weiner's books, and since I'm a stay at home mom of two I still found something I could relate to. It's too bad that some of the reviewers didn't like this book. I have to say I'm still partial to Little Earthquakes and Good in Bed, but Goodnight Nobody is a book I'd reccomend and read again.

Update*** Did you all know that Jennifer Weiner is one of the writers and producers of ABC Family's new show, 'Stae of Georgia', with Raven Symone? It is a cute show, and once I found out that Jennifer Weiner had a hand in it, I was an instant fan. I hope it comes back for a second season.

Additionally, I am still waiting for a sequel of Goodnight Nobody......
Kate Klein lives in a cookie-cutter suburban Connecticut town, with her beloved three kids and her mediocre husband..and she doesn't fit in. Where the supermoms here are thin, dressed to the nines, and completely perfect, she is still struggling with her weight and hiding behind oversized shirts and wrinkled cargo pants. Life seems idyllic for everyone but Kate--who is completely bored and missing her old life in Manhattan. But then supermom extraordinaire, Kitty Cavanaugh, is stabbed to death in her very own kitchen...and Kate discovers the body. Not satisfied with the efforts of the local authorities, Kate, with the assistance of best friend Janie the journalist and ex-flame Evan, launches her own investigation. Will Kate find the killer? Will Janie write her biggest story yet? What secrets lurk in Upchurch, Connecticut? And will Kate be able to dodge the advances of The One Who Got Away...the delectable Evan?

Page-turning fun, women everywhere, especially mothers, will love this tale. Most will see themselves somewhere in the cast of characters. If nothing else, readers will laugh out loud..to the very last page.

I usually like Jennifer Weiner books.I didn't really like this one. The plot was rather ridiculous All of a sudden she realizes who committed the crime -- just out of the blue. The reason for the murder was stupid. Also, their were 3 main characters that there was no ending for. I feel very straightjacketed trying to write this without giving anything away. I will just say, don't bother.
Like many other reviewers, I absolutely love Jennifer Weiner's books and can't get enough. I was looking forward to reading this book since it seemed to have a different story line with the protagonist (Kate Klein) solving a murder-mystery. I liked it - even though at times I found it to be a little slow and straying - up until the ending. Two of the main characters don't have an ending! It wasn't a cliffhanger and I couldn't even infer as to what happens to these characters... it left me wondering if I missed something, because it literally seems like the book is unfinished! Sadly, due to the ending... don't bother reading.
